Ask Alea: What sets apart a good boss from all the other managers and higher-ups? (Andrew, TX, 35)
Being a good boss takes more then just showing up on time, being efficient, and organized. A boss that inspires and motivates their employees takes the time to understand the culture of their employees and their employee’s interpersonal needs, as well as leads by example. A boss recognizes when change and innovation needs to occur, but also facilitates growth in a way that honors what have been stable values, as well as older employees. Being a great boss means being a leader by being part of the team.
